Elder Daniel Earl Bean was born to Samuel and Pheaba Bean, June 23, 1963 in Lake Providence, Louisiana. His family moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1965 and he graduated from Detroit Finney High School in 1981. In 1984, Elder Bean joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Beale AFB, California where he rededicated his life to God and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. In January 1986, he joined the Progressive Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in Sacramento, California under the late Superintendent Jesse E. Copeland.
In 1988, after being honorably discharged from the Air Force, he married Geovanna Toliver-Bean. To this union were born one son, Gionovan, and one daughter, Daniéle Erika. He has been a public servant with the State of California for over twenty eight years. Twenty of those years were as a supervisor within the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and currently he is an Information Systems Analyst with FI$Cal.
Elder Bean accepted his call to ministry in 1984. He received his minister’s license in 1987, and in 1996 he was ordained as an elder in the Church of God in Christ by Bishop W.W. Hamilton of the California Northwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction (CNW). In 1998, after diligently serving at Progressive COGIC and as the Sacramento District Young People Willing Workers (YPWW) president, his commitment and dedication ascended him to the position of regional Youth President, under the leadership of Superintendent Gerald Harris, CNW State Youth President. Elder Bean has over thirty years of experience serving in the ministry.
In November of 2016, God elevated Elder Bean once again. Under Dr. Bennie Toliver’s auspices, Pastor Toliver appointed Elder Bean to the position of Assistant Pastor of the Progressive COGIC.
